Below shows details of the first Towy Boat Club Meeting held in 1978, the following meeting in early 1979 drew in more backers and enough finance was raised to begin work at the current site near Llansteffan.Although there were financial burdens for purchase of equipment and building materials, persons time and labour was purely voluntary. During this period the “founder members” invested a considerable amount of time and effort to get the Club off the ground. In running the Club today it relies on the same ethos as it did in the early years, this enables the Club to be maintained to the state where everyone can enjoy the facilities, all members are expected to help with the upkeep and maintenance and this requirement is built into the constitution.
